Do you want to attend a play party that centers YOU?\nIntroducing: Backroom Bros., a transmasculine-centered play party.\nDay, Time, and Location\nEvery first Friday of the month, 8:30pm to 12:30am, at Transform1060 (1060 Folsom St., San Francisco). We celebrate the diversity of trans bodies and the many ways of being trans, and explicitly affirm the identities of trans men as men. We aim to create a “men’s party” atmosphere that feels comfortable, safe, and welcoming to transmasculine attendees and their guests. We are firmly against the use of any fetishizing language or imagery within this event space.\nAttendance and Guest Policy\nAnyone who identifies as a trans man, trans guy, trans boy/boi, transmasculine, transmasc/trans masc, FTM, or masc-of-center is welcome to attend. Gender expansive people who self-identify with any of the aforementioned identities for the purposes of the party are welcome. Transmasculine attendees are limited to one (1) non-transmasculine guest. Guests must enter at the door with their attendee.\nYour donations provide access to those who cannot otherwise afford a ticket. Free admission is available to any attendee who cannot otherwise afford a ticket, but must be arranged with hosts at least 24 hours in advance over email (sfbackroombros@gmail.com ( mailto:sfbackroombros@gmail.com )).\nStaffing and Volunteers\nThe party is staffed jointly by transmasculine hosts and transmasculine volunteers. Volunteer helpers will be admitted on a case-by-case basis after vetting. Interested in volunteering? We each bring our own skillset, passions, and talents to this party. From the FTM Munch to TMK to SoMa bars and other trans- and queer-led organizations, we have years of experience with our boots on the ground.\nCOVID-19\nProof of a negative COVID-19 test is required prior to the party. Attendees and their guests must show their negative result before being admitted. Tests may be purchased cheaply at the door if needed.
